The countdown has officially started! Before the cap and gown moments arrive, here’s a clean and essential roadmap as we navigate the busiest days of our lives, so far at least. First up: The Keystone exams. You’re probably reading this during that week so enjoy your mini-break. In case you’re not, they run from May 11th through the 18th. If you are taking them, good luck and make sure you prepare! Right after Keystone exams end, we have a full day off on the 19. When we get back on the 20th, it’s a Wednesday, followed immediately by Viking Day. Plus, we have a long weekend coming up—Memorial Day is Monday, May 25th. Then, it’s just a regular four-day week to close out May. Senior Prom is May 29th, closing out the month of May. Good luck on your finals by the way! Then we move on to June which is packed. Our first graduation practice is scheduled for June 4th with our last day being June 3rd! On June 4th, We have laptop collection and Cap and gown distributions! Quick note, make sure you have no outstanding fees or anything you need to turn in as they will not hand you your cap and gown if you have anything outstanding. We all get 8 graduation tickets to each student with no possibility of getting extras. Also on that same day we have the Senior walk where we go to the middle school and to your elementary schools if you attended them in this district. On that same night we have the Senior Academic awards ceremony starting at 6:30 PM. More information will be released including a list of all those invited if you qualify for an award. Moving onto June 5th we have another Grad practice at 7:35 AM followed by Senior breakfast at 9:00 AM. We also have IVY day airing at 7:00 PM on the Viking channel. Let’s clarify the graduation timeline: We have practice on Thursday, June 4th, 5th, and then another practice on the morning of June 8th. The main event, Graduation, is June 8th at 6:30 PM. So, what’s the official countdown? Count down as of May 1st we have just 33 days until June 3rd, and 38 days until Graduation, that’s a full countdown with weekends! Now for school days, excluding Keystone week we have 15 days until June 3rd and 18 days until Graduation!! Finally, remember that interims are on May 8th. This marking period is going to wrap up faster than you think. The next couple of weeks are always the fastest. Stay strong, keep pushing, and I’m wishing you all a very happy early summer break and best of luck to everyone on your future journeys!
