Liam Derry, a junior and first-year staffer, serves as a Staff Writer for The Viking Call, primarily contributing to Business News, Sports, and Entertainment sections. He is passionate in his writing, and holds his opinions strongly, just go up to him and ask for a hot take about sports. His writing prospers while covering a variety of topics due to his versatility of being involved in everything while growing up. When not writing for The Viking Call, Liam is probably busy with one of his many clubs and sports he participates in at UMAHS, including Football, Baseball, Choir, HORNS UP, NHS, Model UN, Deca, and announcing games for The Viking Channel. Outside of school, he enjoys working out, spending time with his friends, family, and girlfriend, working at Screwballs. Liam is also heavily involved with his church, and can be seen at MDP every Sunday morning. After graduation, Liam hopes to attend the United States Military Academy at Westpoint with an undecided major.
