Erin Bartley, Staff Writer – Entertainment
Erin, a senior and first-year staffer, serves as a staff writer for The Viking Call within the Arts & Entertainment section of the site. She focuses on writing reviews of recently released albums and giving her own opinion on the production, lyrics, and context behind the song. Erin does not shy away from expressing what she likes or doesn’t like about certain songs. Her ultimate goal for her writing is to allow all the readers to find new music to listen to, especially that of underrated artists that deserve their time in the spotlight. Her first ever review of Dodie’s Not for Lack of Trying is her opening salvo since it was the first article she got to “answer the call.” She has a wide range of music taste with her favorite artists/bands being Conan Gray, Alec Benjamin, i-dle, ABBA, and Green Day. While she isn’t listening to albums in her free time, Erin spends her time being involved with multiple clubs at UMAHS such as Speech and Debate(President), Orchestra(Secretary/Treasurer), Chamber Strings, Model UN, NHS, and softball. The thing that brings her the most happiness is hanging out with her friends and playing video games with her brothers, Micky and Jimmy. After high school, she plans to attend a four year college and major in either criminal justice or criminology. She’ll likely continue on with her studies to later go to law school.
